Award-winning actress, Thembsie Matu, who is known for the role of the feisty helper, Petronella on The Queen has joined Obstruction.

THEMBSIE MATU: NEW ROLE Entertainment commentator, Jabu Mcdonald confirms that Matu will make her debut on Obstruction in March.

Thembsie Matu back on our screens on Mzansi Magic's new teen drama series #ObstructionMzansi which premieres 18 March at 8pm.

Matu who's hailed by viewers as Mzansi's Madea with her quirky comments told TshisaLIVE that her recipe to success is passion and imagination.

She added that she loves what she does and tries to educate and entertain fans with the characters she plays. The beloved actress also revealed that she and Petronella are similar in terms of confidence as they go after what they want.

BACKGROUND OF OBSTRUCTION' TV Mzansi reports that the upcoming Mzansi Magic show, Obstruction will focus on giving viewers a peek into the lives and minds of teenagers.

The premiere episode will introduce Zano and her mother Thandiwe whom she feels is the only enemy of progress in her life.

Unbeknownst to Zeno, the true impediment to fulfilling her dreams is her charming, lovable father whom she doesn't know has a serious gambling addiction.

Shirley Adonisi, who is M-Net's Director for Local Entertainment Channels hopes this story will shine a spotlight on pertinent themes that many teenagers deal with daily.

Faced with the pressure to succeed, to be liked by peers, to have an emotionally stable family life, and also nail it in the relationship department.
