This panel aims to discuss spectrum migration to mobile broadband and its impact on terrestrial television. Increased use of the internet, anywhere and anytime, drives the continued development of broadband technologies, with growing spectrum demands. Frequency bands used by free-to-air television are the most targeted worldwide. Policies and actions regarding spectrum planning vary around the world, from continent to continent and from country to country. A crucial round of discussions about the future of such spectrum will happen later this year, in Geneve. Is terrestrial television doomed to die for lack of spectrum that preserves digital television and allows for migration to future generations?
