BCE selects SAM IP-Edge technology for its high profile IP deployment posted: 15/08/2016
Broadcasting Centre Europe (BCE), part of the RTL Group, has announced it has selected Snell Advanced Media's IP-Edge technology for its brand new IP production centre, following 10 months of competitive testing.
The investment comes ahead of BCE's move to its new headquarters RTL City' in Luxembourg, where all its operations are being consolidated. The 40 GbE IP-Edge IP production routing system combines SAM's Kahuna IP production switchers, IP modular SDI to IP gateways, IQ-Edge IP processing systems, IP routing control systems and IP multi-viewers providing BCE with a flexible and resilient IP architecture for the future. The initial deployment is based around VSF TR-04 using SMPTE 2022-7 with a seamless migration to VSF TR-03 operation.
With over 30 years' experience in professional broadcast services, BCE operates throughout Europe, broadcasting to more than 15 countries. Its parent company, the RTL Group, is a leading European entertainment network, with interests in 57 TV channels and 31 radio stations across 10 countries.
