Pushing drum sampler technology into new territories

The latest version of Klevgrand's software drum sampler has just arrived, boasting a newly designed Motion engine and a collection of all-new sounds which the company say set a new standard for drum sampling.

OneShot2 introduces a new Motion engine that has been designed to create phrases that evolve over time, making it simple to create the likes of timed cymbal swells and intricate rhythmic effects. Users can take control of the engine with an advanced envelope editor or MIDI CC messages, and Klevgrand have developed an optional iPhone App that can be linked to the plug-in, offering gesture-based control thanks to the device's accelerometer.

The new version also comes packed with an array of new sounds designed to take advantage of the new engine's capabilities, with OneShot2 now featuring over 310 presets, 780 slots and 20,000 samples. Among the new offerings are a new Studio Kit packed with acoustic drum samples and a Jazz Brush kit, along with a whole host of new percussion instruments, natural sounds and other rhythmic sources.

New effects have been introduced, too, with a Reverb2 processor based on Klevgrand's much-loved Walls algorithm; a Transient Adder effect designed to help add some punch' or offer some tonal shaping; and Unstereo, a tool for narrowing the stereo image of sources that are too wide.

Alongside the headline features, OneShot2 also introduces some enhancements and additions based on user feedback, with Klevgrand introducing stack triggers (for stacking sounds, create flams and so on), smarter batch import/export, one-shot durations controlled by note off, copy/paste effects and much more.

Compatibility OneShot2 is supported on PCs running Windows 7 or higher, and Macs running macOS 10.10 and above. VST, AU and AAX plug-in versions are available.

Pricing & Availability OneShot2 is available now, and is being offered at an introductory price of $119.99 until 30 April 2026, when it will increase to its full cost of $199.99. Owners of the original version can upgrade for $39.99 during the introductory offer period (usually $59.99).
