DaVinci Resolve, elegido para etalonar en HDR Ku'damm 63' La tercera entrega de la popular miniserie alemana Ku'damm 63, emitida a trav s del canal ZDF, fue etalonada con DaVinci Resolve Studio (Blackmagic Design). La serie, producida por UFA Fiction para el canal de televisi n p blico alem n ZDF, consta de tres episodios de 90 minutos en los que se narra la historia de la evoluci n sociocultural de Alemania contada a trav s de los amores, las libertades conquistadas y el sufrimiento de tres hermanas, Monika, Helga y Eva, hijas de una matriarca conservadora.
La posproducci n fue llevada a cabo por Dfacto Motionwith Ana Izquierdo como responsable del etalonaje. Al igual que en las series anteriores, Ana colabor de cerca con el director de fotograf a Michael Schreitel: Quer amos pasar de las im genes desaturadas de Ku'damm 56 a unas m s luminosas y coloridas, ya que no solo reflejan el salto en el tiempo, sino tambi n temas clave de esa poca, como el crecimiento de las televisiones Technicolor y el cine, as como una perspectiva m s optimista .
Aunque los episodios anteriores se hab an etalonado en YRGB, en este caso se tom la decisi n de usar una din mica de trabajo en ACES, a fin de facilitar la transici n de SDR a HDR. Por esta raz n, las estructuras nodales existentes tuvieron que ser reconstruidas desde el principio en la l nea de tiempo del m dulo Color. Ana desarroll dos nodos que hicieron de base y luego un etalonaje secundario para la paleta de tonalidades ocre: Suavizamos los azules y adem s usamos un nodo adicional con el limitador del espectro crom tico, donde nos percatamos de que hab a una reacci n indeseada con matices fluorescentes , comenta Ana.
Como en otros dramas de poca, la serie requer a una gran cantidad de efectos visuales para recrear el Berl n de la d cada de los 60. Ana explica que, trabajando de cerca con dicho departamento, el desaf o era mantener una sensaci n de realismo evitando que interrumpiera la narraci n: En Ku'damm, ten amos varias tomas exteriores del estudio de danza de la familia Galant. Las herramientas de precisi n de Resolve fueron esenciales para desempe ar un etalonaje preciso con canales alfa en cada una de las composiciones y elementos computarizados .
De SDR a HDR Debido a que el formato principal de entrega era SDR, este etalonaje fue la base para la versi n en HDR. El departamento de im genes configur el proyecto en Rec.2020 y ajust las zonas m s luminosas en la l nea de tiempo correspondiente.
La serie est realizada con mucha atenci n, tanto desde el punto de vista t cnico como visual, desde del principio de la fotograf a a la posproducci n, y la din mica de DaVinci Resolve jug un papel fundamental. Al colaborar con el director y el responsable de fotograf a, fuimos capaces de llevar el etalonaje m s lejos, con el objetivo de enfatizar el desarrollo de los personajes, algo que era importante. Contar con una din mica de posproducci n flexible y confiable nos permiti emplear m s tiempo en la creaci n de la est tica perfecta con la historia de fondo , concluye la colorista.
