Grass Valley Partners with Brightcove, Elemental, and ExciteM to Expand GV STRATUS and Ignite Workflow Capabilities
Integrated solutions offer improved workflows to enable broadcasters to better monetize content and create new business opportunities
MONTREAL, April 7, 2014 To meet the growing demands of a multiscreen audience, Grass Valley, a Belden Brand, has partnered with Brightcove (NASDAQ: BCOV), Elemental, and ExciteM to integrate each companys solutions with the GV STRATUS Digital Media Platform (DMP) and the Ignite Automated Production System. This gives broadcasters a single and robust workflow for distributing content across multiple digital media platforms, including broadcast, web, and mobile applications for both automated video-on-demand (VOD) and live streaming with content replacement. It further positions GV STRATUS and Ignite as the industry standard for efficient production and distribution workflows.
GV STRATUS DMP is the industrys most highly integrated and powerful toolset for the delivery of content to the full spectrum of digital media platforms to enable broadcasters to reach viewers wherever they are and on whatever Internet or over-the-air device they choose. Its also the first solution to enable live streaming of local newscasts with embargoed content replacement and hyper-client based advertising for television stations delivering groundbreaking opportunities to strengthen brands and further monetize content to viewers.
The incorporation of Brightcoves suite of cloud services for video with GV STRATUS DMP and Ignite provides an extensive set of support tools that automate the dynamic insertion of targeted pre-roll, mid-roll, and post-roll advertisements for VOD content, and 1:1 addressable mid-roll advertising for live streaming. These new advertising capabilities will help broadcasters to cost-effectively grow and monetize their video content. Anil Jain, Senior Vice President and General Manager, Media Group at Brightcove, commented, GV STRATUS sets the standard for efficiency and excellence in the production lifecycle. Together with Brightcoves powerful portfolio of media-focused products for video, broadcasters are now able to streamline their advertising operations and distribute ad-supported on-demand and live video content to viewers on any screen.
The integration of video processing technology from Elemental with GV STRATUS DMP and Ignite address the challenges of embargoed content replacement and client-based targeted advertising for live streaming content. It also leverages Society of Cable Telecommunications Engineers (SCTE) industry standards for message processing, while also providing reliable VOD transcoding to assist with fast-turn automated publishing. Elementals ongoing relationship with Grass Valley consistently delivers new and exciting capabilities for broadcasters. Our integrated solutions give broadcasters the ability to deliver live streaming content, closed captioning, targeted advertising, and analytics all in one efficient package, said Aslam Khader, Chief Product Officer at Elemental.
For fast and reliable social media engagement and audience interaction, technology from ExciteM provides VOD publishing to Facebook, Twitter, Google+, and other social media platforms with voting, polling, and editorial feedback loops through GV STRATUS DMP with on-air presentation of results and feedback via Ignite. The partnership provides a key component in closing the business cycle loop in the digital media ecosystem with social media acting as a catalyst for driving viewer engagement. According to Belal Hummadi, Chief Executive Officer at ExciteM, By combining our technology with GV STRATUS DMP and Ignite, were specifically addressing the challenges of delivering VOD content with social media management and editor control. This new combination of technologies greatly simplifies this process for broadcast customers and help drive VOD consumption and engagement across multiple platforms.
Grass Valley is excited to integrate with such industry-leading companies as Brightcove, Elemental, and ExciteM to broaden the capabilities and expand the reach of our GV STRATUS DMP and Ignite systems, commented Mike Cronk, Senior Vice President of Strategic Marketing, Grass Valley. Our goal is to continually simplify and streamline operations for broadcasters and these partnerships do just that providing a comprehensive, tightly integrated workflow solution that makes it easier for broadcasters to grow their content in todays multiplatform digital media landscape.
