Local Tamil series Zombie Kadhali premieres 30 Jan on Astro

First local Tamil zombie-themed fantasy romance series

Astro customers can look forward to the premiere of the first local Tamil zombie-themed fantasy romance series, Zombie Kadhali on 30 January, 9pm on Astro Vinmeen (Ch 202) via TV, Astro GO and On Demand. Directed by award-winning local filmmaker, Saran Z, Zombie Kadhali is his debut Tamil series which features talented local artistes such as Jayshree Vijayan, James Devan Arokisamy, Chandhine Kaur, Hemaji, and more.

Mahesvaran Balakrishnan, Assistant Vice President, Indian Channel Business (Astro Vinmeen), Astro, said, We are thrilled to present our customers with a new genre of local Tamil series as we explore the creativity of the local film industry further. Saran Z, Director, Zombie Kadhali, said, Zombie Kadhali would be a complete family entertainer as the story carries a great portion of romance, friendship, conflict, action, humour and unexpected twists. The series has been shot and produced with cinematic viewing in mind from the beginning. Thus, I hope audience will enjoy a new level of viewing experience for a Malaysian drama series. 6 tracks were composed for the entire series to lift audiences emotions for the visuals. I believe the tracks will be a pillar for the series. I would also like to express my gratitude to Astro for giving the opportunity and freedom for the local filmmakers to explore new genres.

This 22-episode series revolves around Anu, an aspiring boxer and model who turns into a half-zombie which turns her life upside down. How Anu handles her career and romantic relationship despite the turmoil forms the crux of the story.
