Safe Summer Appeal
The summer holidays should be a time to look forward to. At Kids Company, the children and young people we support don't count down the days anticipating the fun and freedom to come; they count the days of safety and security they have left before school closes and they must fend for themselves.
One of our young people described her experience of summer: The lead up to mid-July, the big' school holidays, always filled me with dread and panic. For other children, the break from school would be one of excitement: trips away, time with families and long days with paddling pools and barbecues. For me, the lack of structure that was round the corner was terrifying. My home life, which was already hanging by a thread, was about to become chaotic and frightening.
Without access to the basic needs that school provides like regular meals and security, children and young people are exposed to gang activity in their communities and so become exceptionally vulnerable. Gang culture can provide the comfort and sanctuary which most of us find at home and all too often take for granted. Without it, becoming a gang member can be the only alternative to enduring the holidays hungry, lonely and riddled with fear.
Throughout the summer months, Kids Company will support over 100 young people with emergency shelter and has to dramatically increase its high risk outreach support for children to keep them safe during this extremely volatile time.

Bugaboo for Kids Company
This August, just three exclusive Andy Warhol + Bugaboo Cameleon Blondie edition pushchairs will be auctioned. 100% of the realized price from the auction will go to Kids Company, to help further their amazing work in delivering practical, emotional and educational support to vulnerable inner-city children.
This unique work of pushchair art introduces Andy Warhol's acclaimed 1980 portrait of legendary performer Debbie Harry to the iconic Bugaboo Cameleon . Contrasting the black chassis, the colourful pop-art print on the sun canopy makes for a striking set of wheels for your little pop(art)star!
The auction will take place over three weeks from Monday 11th August, with one pushchair up for grabs per week:
Auction of the second pushchair: 18th - 22nd August
Auction of the third pushchair: 25th - 29th August

Join Kids Company on our attempt to conquer the highest peak in the Pyrenees at 3404m!
A two-day spring ascent promises glorious weather and a sprinkling of snow cover on the glacier meaning ice axes, crampons and ropes will be necessary. The final ascent will begin by torchlight as we head for the gullies and then on to the eventual steep, airy traverse to the peak. For more information and how to register please click here

ARCTIC BIATHLON - EXTRA WEEKEND ADDED!
Event Dates: Friday 12th - Monday 15th December
Following its continued popularity, we are running this ultimate team wilderness endurance
challenge for the 7th consecutive year. By day, teams will compete against one another on
sleds and Nordic skis in temperatures as low as -30 C. By night, they will enjoy dinners in
the wilderness in the land of the Northern Lights.
Length of trip: 4 days - leaving Friday AM and returning Monday PM
