Pass GmbH Produces Virtual and Hybrid Events For Global Clients With AJA Gear

For the international proAV industry, adopting new remote workflow technologies that incorporate production-proven broadcast solutions has enabled live events to pivot to accessible virtual and hybrid formats. At the onset of the global pandemic, the veteran proAV specialists at Stuttgart's Pass GmbH transitioned their core line of business to focus more heavily on hosting, live streaming and recording virtual events for clients. Whether streaming classical symphony performances for the Bach Akademie, Stuttgart, or hosting virtual conferences for Trelleborg, Computacenter, and other multinational corporations, Pass depends on a range of reliable AJA recording, streaming and I/O solutions to power remote event production.

Hosting virtual and hybrid events requires the development of fast and flexible workflows that are tailored to meet client demands, with zero margin of error for failure in rigorous live production environments. No matter the project demands, AJA's versatile lineup of Ki Pro recorders allow Pass to capture high-resolution masters for archival and post-production purposes. During live events, a fleet of eight HD cameras feed into AJA's Ki Pro Ultra 12G and Ki Pro GO recorders. Footage captured via Ki Pro Ultra Plus is recorded as Apple ProRes high-quality files onto reliable AJA Pak Media drives for later use in post-production. Simultaneously, H.264 HD files are recorded through Ki Pro GO directly onto affordable off-the-shelf USB drives, which can be handed off to clients or team members directly following events without requiring any copying, rendering or media transfer time.

During event live streams, Pass uses an AJA HELO to provide real-time, high-quality H.264 encoding and simultaneous streaming delivery of live feeds to a range of CDNs. Compact and portable, the HELO H.264 standalone streaming and recording device features flexible 3G-SDI and HDMI source inputs to adapt to varied workflow demands. For high-quality video capture from remote event participants, Pass relies upon AJA's affordable U-TAP device to produce professional-grade video streams from a simple camera setup. U-TAP brings professional SDI or HDMI connectivity for high-quality live video input to virtually any laptop or workstation - via a plug-and-play USB 3.0 connection - and features a simple interface and instant compatibility with popular apps for streaming and chat.
