Hit US drama Elsbeth and highly anticipated series Matlock come to Sky in 2024Tuesday 9 July 2024
Headlined by Acclaimed Actresses Carrie Preston and Kathy Bates, Both Series are Produced by CBS Studios and Distributed by Paramount Global Content Distribution
Two US dramas are coming to UK audiences this year, with Elsbeth, US network CBS' second most-watched new series of the 23-24 season, and Matlock, inspired by the classic television series of the same name, joining an unmissable line up of programming coming to Sky and streaming service NOW in 2024.
Elsbeth - which currently holds a 94% Rotten Tomatoes rating - stars Emmy Award winner Carrie Preston as Elsbeth Tascioni, an astute but unconventional attorney who utilises her singular point of view to make unique observations and corner brilliant criminals alongside the NYPD. Viewers will recognise the character from the hit series The Good Wife and The Good Fight, with the new show following Elsbeth as she tackles a new investigative role in New York City. The series also stars Wendell Pierce known for his roles in shows such as Suits and The Wire and Carra Patterson who can be seen in the film Rustin.
Also coming to Sky Witness and NOW in 2024 is Matlock, starring Emmy and Academy Award winner Kathy Bates as the titular character. The series follows the brilliant septuagenarian Madeline Matty Matlock, who, after achieving success in her younger years, decides to rejoin the workforce at a prestigious law firm where she uses her unassuming demeanour and wily tactics to win cases. The series also stars Skye P. Marshall, Jason Ritter, David Del Rio and Leah Lewis.

Elsbeth will be airing weekly from 23 July on Sky Witness and streaming service NOW, with Matlock coming later this year.

About ElsbethThe series stars Carrie Preston as Elsbeth Tascioni, an astute but unconventional attorney who utilizes her singular point of view to make unique observations and corner brilliant criminals alongside the NYPD. After leaving her successful legal career in Chicago to tackle a new investigative role in New York City, Elsbeth finds herself jockeying with the toast of the NYPD, Captain C.W. Wagner (Wendell Pierce), a charismatic and revered leader. Working alongside Elsbeth is Officer Kaya Blanke (Carra Patterson), a stoic and ethical officer who quickly develops an appreciation for Elsbeth's insightful and offbeat ways. About MatlockMATLOCK stars Emmy and Academy Award winner Kathy Bates as Madeline Matty Matlock, a brilliant septuagenarian who achieved success in her younger years and decides to rejoin the work force at a prestigious law firm where she uses her unassuming demeanor and wily tactics to win cases. Matty is assigned to Olympia (Skye P. Marshall), a senior attorney and key rainmaker with a thirst for justice, while Olympia's ex-husband, Julian (Jason Ritter), the son of the head of the firm, is intrigued by Matty and her clever skills. As Matty endeavors to establish herself in her new high-stakes world, she works alongside the firm's younger associates - the charismatic Billy (David Del Rio) and the uber ambitious Sarah (Leah Lewis). MATLOCK is inspired by the classic television series of the same name.
Jennie Snyder Urman, Joanna Klein, Eric Christian Olsen, John Will, Kat Coiro and Kathy Bates are executive producers. Coiro directed the pilot from a script written by Urman. The series is produced by CBS Studios and distributed by Paramount Global Content Distribution.
