To help broadcasters fully embrace dynamic hybrid workflows, Calrec will make a major announcement that unlocks even more freedom for broadcasters adopting hybrid workflows, offering greater flexibility and choice in how they configure Calrec workflows.

New Argo M: More faders, more flexibility, more control

Building on the company s critical hardware foundation, Calrec s compact IP-native 48-fader Argo M audio console with integrated DSP will make its US debut.

Featuring up to 356 channels of internal DSP, Argo M delivers all the power, familiarity, and reliability of Calrec's flagship Argo platform in a streamlined 24, 36 and new 48-fader footprint. Compact yet uncompromising, it maximises desk space with full-sized fader strips and intuitive controls built for the most demanding productions. Plug-and-play ST2110 and cloud connectivity gives immediate high-performance control, so broadcasters can focus on what matters most, creating outstanding content at scale.

The ability to connect Argo M to an ST2110 networked environment and to an existing Calrec ImPulse core alongside other Argo surfaces means broadcasters can quickly create multi-console IP environments. Seamless connectivity to ImPulse, ImPulse1 and ImPulseV means additional external DSP paths can easily be added as production demands change.

NEW software updates & feature preview

Calrec will showcase key software updates and a feature preview at NAB 2026.

Argo v1.4.24 provides all the acclaimed functionality of 1.4 plus operator enhancements and is available immediately.

Type R v3.2 delivers improved Mix Minus outputs, Assist Upstand meter tiles, Off Air record contribution dialogue, and Syslog support and will be released in Q2, following NAB.

Calrec will also be showing a new preview of Argo Offline Assist allowing offline configuration which will be available in Q4.

Virtualisation reimagined

Virtualisation with Calrec means flexibility without compromise. Calrec's virtualisation strategy gives broadcasters the choice and the freedom to define and scale their own infrastructure requirements across a range of hybrid workflows.

New for NAB 2026: Calrec will preview ImPulseV running on virtualised server hardware. Calrec s ImPulseV virtualised audio mixing engine creates workflows across multiple platforms whether COTS hardware, public cloud, private cloud, existing processing hardware and distributed resources contribute to an efficient flexible hybrid production environment.

Calrec's ImPulseV employs the same familiar user interface and can be controlled directly from any Argo or True Control 2.0 enabled console or via the company s Assist web UI.

Visitors will also see a demonstration of the company s IP-native 24-fader Argo M console with ImPulseV cloud DSP software which is designed to be deployable across multiple hosting environments, giving broadcasters ultimate choice as to where and how they deploy.

ImPulseV not only empowers broadcasters to flex resources to meet the demands of large broadcast events, its economical OpEx model enables a wider range of second and third tier events, which previously may not have been financially viable.

True Control 2.0: Powering connection

As broadcasters and content creators continue to redefine their production models adopting hybrid and remote workflows, Calrec s IP Ecosystem powered by True Control 2.0 allows users to blend on-premise infrastructure with remote operations and virtual cloud resources. By decoupling audio and video from hardware, teams can scale dynamically, orchestrate thousands of audio channels across distributed DSP environments and virtualise entire workflows.

True Control 2.0 is the glue that connects Calrec's award-winning IP ecosystem together, offering ample flexibility with distribution models most recently seen at the Summer Games. Calrec will demonstrate the benefits of True Control 2.0 in action, linking Calrec consoles on the Booth to a Calrec console in California.

True Control 2.0 delivers full feature-set parameters over EQ, dynamics, routing, direct outputs and delay. Broadcasters can scale production ecosystems quickly, supporting distributed workflows with a deep level of remote control. A single controller can manage up to five other Calrec consoles or processing cores simultaneously, expanding functionality without extra hardware investment.
