MIX 101.5 Fills Holiday Season with Toys, Radiothon and Christmas Choirs

MIX 101.5 is pulling out all the stops for the holidays. The radio staffers are busier than Santas elves with multiple events to support our community, including the upcoming Radiothon. We checked in with WRAL-FM Promotions Director Jason Newton and he gave us the latest on what the MIX crew is up to:

Toyland

3,000 Toys for Girls and Boys was a huge success! It was a team effort with everyone pulling together to make the goal happen but the stars of the show really knocked it out of the park. Kudos goes to Two Men and a Mom, Kyle, Bryan and Sarah, for going above and beyond. Kyle and Sarah stayed on-air past their normal shifts till 6pm each day and Bryan once again braving his fears and elements by staying up in the air on a 40ft scissor lift. He wouldnt come down till the goal was reached! MIX listeners reacted and helped achieve the goal which means lots of happy children in the Triangle, plus a safe and sound Bryan Lord back on the ground.

Radiothon Moves to December

MIX 101.5 will be hosting our 23rd Annual MIX 101.5 Radiothon for Duke Childrens Hospital Wednesday, December 13 Thursday, December 14. MIX 101.5 on-air personalities will be broadcasting live from the lobby of Duke Childrens Hospital starting at 6AM each day.

Here We Come A Caroling

MIX 101.5 Christmas Choir Competition is in full swing! The Division 1 (K-8) winners were determined by MIX listeners voting for their favorite last week and now its onto Division 2 (9-12). First and second place winners will be invited to perform live at Crabtree Valley Mall on the second floor near Sears on Monday, December 11 & Tuesday, December 12 starting at 6pm.
