Now running until September 16 inclusive, this contest is open to any approved Digital Journalist on DigitalJournal.com.
The deadline has been extended from August 31 due to the popularity of the contest and the requests by Digital Journalists to have more time to compile photo essays for the contest. Weve already received some impressive submissions, but when school resumes in September and events like film festivals take over major cities, we look forward to seeing even more compelling entries to the contest.
This contest is focusing on the theme of fun, discovery and adventure. Entrants must compile a photo essay with at least 3 photos relating to those themes. You are open to publish a photo essay on any or all of those topics, whatever they mean to you. You must not publish more than seven photos.
Your photos must be included in an article and you must write in the headline Photo Essay. Thats it. You dont need to email the entries to editors.
There is no limit to how many times you can enter the contest. You can contribute as many photo essays as you like. All photos must be shot by the author of the article. Verification of authenticity may be required. You are required to include at least three original photos but please dont include more than seven photos.
Photos must be taken between July 1, 2013 and present. No old photos are allowed to be eligible for this contest.
The entries must be published on DigitalJournal.com between 12:01 a.m. (Eastern) August 1, 2013 and 11:59 p.m. (Eastern) on September 16, 2013.
PRIZES: The first place winner will receive $100, and second place will get $75 and a third place winner will take home $50. All prizes will be awarded within 30 days of Contest judging via PayPal to those addresses provided by Contest winners on their Member Registration Form.
