Adder Technology leads the way in the IP revolution at IBC0

Adder Technology, the high performance keyboard, video and mouse (KVM) specialist, will be showcasing its solutions for the broadcast and post production market at IBC2013 with live demos on its stand, B33 in Hall 7. The company is also running an Industry Insights session, The Business of Post Production Workflow Across High Speed Networks on Friday 13th at 15:30.

John Halksworth, Senior Product Manager at Adder Technology, says: IP will revolutionise the broadcast sector. Were now starting to see standard networking technologies being used regularly on the studio floor, in post and in control rooms.

At this years IBC, we will prove that end to end real-time and interactive video matrix systems can function perfectly over standard IP and that they can be provisioned now, not five years down the line.

Adder will be demonstrating the latest functionality offered by the v.3 firmware update for its high performance KVM technology, AdderLink Infinity, which has been developed specifically to meet the needs of the broadcast and post-production market.

The v.3 firmware offers three key upgrades: Network teaming provides double the bandwidth of previous versions, guaranteeing HD video at 60 frames per second over standard IP infrastructure. This also prevents any single point of failure from taking down the operation, providing the extra resilience required for critical applications in a live broadcast studio. AIM 3.0 also allows server redundancy, enabling 24/7 reliability and total confidence in critical environments. Internationalisation now provides users 10 language options, reflecting the global presence of Adder solutions.

As part of IBC conference session titled The Business of Post Production Workflow Across High Speed Networks Dr. Andy Fisher, Chief Scientist at Adder Technology, will demonstrate how AdderLink Infinity enables post houses to future proof their facilities.

Dr. Fisher explains: In the wake of increasing competition, established post production houses are under increasing pressure to maximise efficiencies to get most value from their existing facilities, which often suffer from finite space and inflexible set-ups.

Well prove that our Infinity product makes it possible to deliver full HD video at 60 FPS with full USB interaction, without any peripheral lag or loss of picture quality, and without falling into the technology trap of investing in expensive proprietary systems. Moreover, Ill explain how our technologies make it possible for talent to access their project configuration and assets in any suite, as well as share resources and collaborate with colleagues, just by logging on to their own profile.

Adder offers a range of scalable solutions used for extending, switching or as a matrix, which are often used in conjunction with Avid PowerTools, Media Composer and Autodesk Smoke and Flame. These have been deployed by broadcasters, post production and content creation companies around the world.

For the fifth year running Adder will be an official IBC technology supporter and will be providing a suite of AdderLink Infinity products to support the conference extension, switching and InfoChannel that runs throughout the show.
