Mexico City, November 23, 2016 -- In the age of binge watching, fans no longer simply tune in to catch the newest season of their favorite shows - they prepare to watch. A new survey from Netflix reveals fans across Mexico of the acclaimed series Club de Cuervos are not only planning on devouring the upcoming season in just a few days, but 83% of viewers surveyed are going as far as planning to build their own made up of family, friends and significant others to binge and enjoy the latest chapter in the series. Not only that, but more than half (51%) of those surveyed confirmed they're opening training camps for rookies where they plan to recruit someone to rewatch season 1 so they can add them to their binge team living room lineup in time for the premiere on December 9th.
Fans are very enthusiastic about the return of Club de Cuervos and they will love this second season even more. The stakes are higher as the struggle between Isabel and Chava has turned into an all out war now that she has taken the helm as the club president, said Erik Barmack, vice president of international original series at Netflix. This original production has built a devoted following in Mexico and the fan experience around the show has evolved from something personal to a shared event.
So what's the best game plan for getting drafted to a binge team? Nearly 55% of respondents stated that watching with people who like the same character they do is the most important quality in their teammates. And with the Cuervos presidency on the line once again in season 2, it's no surprise teams are pledging their support for either Chava (60% are #teamchava) or Isabel (40% are #teamisabel) to win.
As Cuervos Weekend draws closer with the season 2 premiere, living room lineups are filling up, with the majority (68%) of fans planning to rejoin their same team from watching the first season, while some binge teams will be forming for the first time. Regardless of who makes the cut or who they will be cheering for to come out on top this season, fans across Mexico will be sure to enjoy the return of their favorite team from Nuevo Toledo.
METHODOLOGY
The survey was conducted by SurveyMonkey, October 31, 2016 - November 7, 2016 and based on more than 1,000 responses. The sample was the national adult internet population in Mexico and the data is reflective of viewers in Mexico who have completed watching Club de Cuervos. Survey respondents must have confirmed their intent to watch and prepare for season 2 of Club de Cuervos to participate.
