David Pogue, Andy Beach Keynotes Highlight Silicon Valley Video Summer Camp, July 14 at De Anza College

David Pogue will keynote SVV Summer Camp and discuss Apple at 50: How the World's Most Valuable Tech Company Became a Media Empire. The first Silicon Valley Video Summer Camp has been announced for July 14 at De Anza College with two headline keynote presentations from Emmy-winning technology journalist and bestselling author David Pogue and AI media strategist Andy Beach.

Designed as a one-day, invitation-only immersion, the Silicon Valley Video Summer Camp brings together an elite audience of engineers, creators, technologists, and corporate storytellers to explore the rapidly evolving tools, workflows, and creative challenges shaping modern video production. The event is the latest SVG Enterprise initiative serving the growing enterprise video community.

Pogue will open the event with a featured SMPTE Student Keynote, Apple at 50: How the World's Most Valuable Tech Company Became a Media Empire. Based on his new bestselling book Apple: The First Fifty Years, the presentation explores how Apple transformed technology, storytelling, advertising, retail, and live events into one of the world's most influential brand narratives. A CBS Sunday Morning correspondent and former longtime New York Times tech columnist, Pogue will share behind-the-scenes insights into how Apple built anticipation, loyalty, and emotional connection at a global scale.

Beach's keynote, Video as a Data Type: A Reference Architecture for AI-Era Media, examines how AI is reshaping the foundation of modern media operations. A former Microsoft CTO for Media & Entertainment, Beach will outline why rights management, content lineage, identity, transport, and metadata are becoming increasingly critical as AI models commoditize. His session connects the challenge of creating a unified vision for the future of media infrastructure.

Additional panels and presentations throughout the day will tackle topics including AI-powered production tools, vertical-first content creation, self-serve creator studios, hybrid event production, unified workflows, and the future of enterprise broadcast technology.
