Superstar singers, body builders and energy giants boost content creation with CatDV Media t Management (MAM)

Square Box Systems (www.squarebox.com), developer of leading media asset management system CatDV, today revealed details of how CatDV is being used to support content creation across a wide variety of industries and market sectors, with customers reporting significant time savings and productivity advantages.

In media and entertainment, Parkwood Entertainment, the US American entertainment and management company founded by superstar singer and actress Beyonc , leading independent content distributor Cinedigm, Canadian adventure sports and action filmmaker Freeride Entertainment, and video, audio and film media storage specialist Solo Flight Storage, have all invested in CatDV media asset management systems. Beyond Pix, the San Francisco-based creative, production and post production facility is using CatDV to make video production as open and accessible as possible to its staff and clients, including Yahoo, eBay, Amazon, Chevron, NASCAR and Toyota.

Before CatDV, staff were spending too much time on housekeeping assets than the creative job at hand, said Andrea Barnett, editor/pipeline specialist at Beyond Pix. Due to the previous asset management routine we had in place, closing out projects and getting them properly archived might have taken two days. Now, thanks to CatDV we can now do three or four projects in a single day.

As part of its work for energy corporation Chevron, Beyond Pix has catalogued and archived entire productions using CatDV including stills, RAW camera footage, finals and low-resolution viewing copies. Chevrons in-house production team can search all of this media, and make requests, remotely via CatDV WebClient. They have one of the fastest and easiest ways to keep track of their assets. They can find materials from their own offices, and then send project requests to us via the WebClient, added Barnett.

Other, high profile, CatDV users include international grocery and convenience store chain Safeway, Oklahoma City Museum of Art, and NASA Jet Propulsion Laboratory, along with Intermountain Healthcare in Salt Lake City and Childrens Healthcare Of Atlanta, in the medical industry.

As the worlds largest online sports nutrition store, Bodybuilding.com, based in Boise, Idaho, takes health and fitness seriously. Having accumulated more than 100,000 media assets, including 10,000 videos of expert-designed fitness training programs, the publishing giant also takes media asset management seriously too with multiple licenses of CatDV helping to streamline its editorial and archival processes. Recent productions include the eight-week training program titled Arnold Schwarzeneggers Blueprint, and long-form documentary Jay Cutlers Living Large, with four-time Mr. Olympia-winner Jay Cutler.
