Lawo releases platform for routing based on software V Matrix The new ecosystem allows you to transform the hardware for different functions according to each need via software.
Lawo German manufacturer has just released its new platform V Matrix NAB 2016. This solution designed broadcasters and operators of audiovisual services is a platform for routing and processing to adapt with a software update for any need.
V Matrix will be sonre a scalable chassis of 1U, 2U or 3U, with different generic processing blades connected s a COTS switch of high capacity with 10GE and 40GE redundant connections to form a matrix of processing and routing based on IP. The system also has connections for SDI as an option, with the control of VSM Broadcast Control and Monitoring software.
In this way, the system allows a routing and switching of signals both in the field of IP such as SDI and includes the Lawo SDN for routing of extremely precise video level frame.

V Matrix leverages multiple cores connected to a high capacity with redundant connections 10GE and 40GE COTS switch to form a matrix IP processing and distributed routing with clean switching frames precisely exactly the same as an array of baseband from legacy systems.
You can download virtual modules defined by software, using generic blade servers from processing in nuclei of high capacity, to create any required functionality, allowing you to redesign workflows full minutes to change the production requirements to production. The core processing blade servers are housed in one, two or three units rack frames with physical connectivity to legacy SDI equipment provided through optional input/output boards of V Matrix with Lawo VSM relay control and monitoring system serves as a control layer. The system allows switching and routing domains IP and SDI signals and includes control SDN Lawo routing of video with clean switching frames precisely in the IP domain, as well as control and monitoring for existing inherited SDI infrastructure and IP equipment of third parties.
Total flexibility
As a fully IP-based platform, V Matrix can be installed anywhere: in a mobile unit, a television Studio or a center of operations for retransmission, to create a central infrastructure virtualized for live production. As the capabilities of the system and the functionality of the signal chains are not defined by physical connectivity of hardware modules, routing and processing can be decentralized and distributed in one or more facilities or centralised in a fixed installation or mobile unit. Hardware independent of the function Matrix V central processing allows an operator to create complex workflows simply loading and running the appropriate virtual modules, which can be modified on the fly during the activity to change the demands of production. Cascading connecting multiple virtual modules together, V Matrix scales linearly to thousands of audio/video processing and SDI input/output functions to obtain a flexibility, versatility and unparalleled cost efficiency.
