Position: Head of Marketing and Communications

Reporting to: Chief Executive Officer

Job Ref: HMC/001

The objective of the Marketing and Communication Department is to position the NFVF and the South African Film sector locally and globally as well as to develop audiences for SA content. The Head of Marketing and Communication will be responsible to provide planning and leadership to the Marketing and Communications Department, ensuring that appropriate strategies, structures, systems and workflows are developed and implemented in order to meet and exceed the goals of the department internally and externally.

Qualifications:

Minimum B Degree in Marketing and other relevant fields

Post graduate qualification and membership to a professional association desirable

Minimum 7 - 10 years' experience in marketing, with at least 4 years senior managerial level preferably at general management level

Requirements:

Demonstrated skills, knowledge and experience in the following:

Stakeholder engagement; sponsorship; marketing and communications operations

Strong oral, written communication and report writing skills

Develop and implement turnaround strategy for the department

Create and implement appropriate structures, systems, Standard Operating Systems and workflows in order to meet and exceed the goals of the marketing and communications department

Developing and implementing successful marketing and communications plans and strategies

Develop and implement creative and effective media and Public Relations plans and strategies

Identify and recommend local and international platforms for the positioning, promotion and distribution of SA content

Knowledge of market trends and translation of market research into business plans

Overseeing development, production and delivery of events and live productions

Managing staff, administration and budgets in line with relevant legislations and internal procedures

Ability to work under pressure and successfully manage multiple projects at a time

Strong planning, leadership and people management qualities

Knowledge and experience of business of film would be an added advantage

Knowledge and experience in the public sector advantageous

Strong project management skills
