Quentin Dupieux In-Person for Rubber and Wrong at Drafthouse Village After directing just a mere handful of features, Quentin Dupieux has immediately established himself as one of the world's most fearless cinematic surrealists. With a laser-sharp eye, a pranksterish wit and the airy rhythm of a ballet dancer, this filmmaker has not just blossomed into our collective space he has ZAPPED into being with the fully-formed artistic viewpoint that it takes other folks most of a career to manage. Were thrilled to host him in Austin presenting a double feature of Drafthouse Films latest bizarro cinematic offering, Wrong, as well as his head-exploding killer tire (yes, a car tire) 2010 cult favorite Rubber. On March 24 at 7PM at Alamo Drafthouse Village in Austin, Quentin Dupieux will introduce both films and appear for a Q&A between screenings.

His latest comedic brainbomb finds Reno 911's Jack Plotnick awakening one morning to find he has lost the sole love of his life his dog. Amongst such bizarro human roadblocks as a promiscuous pizza delivery girl, an unstable, jogging-addicted neighbor, an eccentric pet detective (Eastbound and Down's Steve Little) and an oily, enigmatic guru (a flat-out brilliant William Fichtner), his journey in Wrong guides you through a fascinating, wholly original and hallucinatory universe to which you'll want to book repeat accommodations.

So youll want to stick around for Rubber, the story of Robert, an inanimate tire that has been abandoned in the desert before suddenly and inexplicably coming to life. As Robert roams the bleak landscape, he discovers that he possesses terrifying telepathic powers that give him the ability to destroy anything he wishes. At first content to prey on discarded objects and small desert creatures, his attention soon turns to humans, especially a beautiful and mysterious woman who crosses his path. Leaving a swath of destruction behind, Robert becomes a chaotic force and truly a movie villain for the ages.
