Ofcom awards new community radio licences in Leeds, Bradford, Beverley and Kingston-upon-Hull

Ofcom has today announced the award of four new community radio licences in Leeds, Bradford, Beverley and Kingston-upon-Hull.

Licences have been awarded to to Bradford Asian Radio, Beverley FM, Hull Kingston Radio, and AKASH Radio, for a service in Leeds.

Community radio services are provided on a not-for-profit basis focusing on the delivery of specific social benefits to a particular geographical community or a community of interest.

Ofcom has awarded community radio licences to:

AKASH Radio (Akash Radio Leeds Limited)

AKASH Radio will provide a community radio service for Punjabi-speaking communities in Leeds.

Bradford Asian Radio (Bradford Asian Radio Limited)
