Picturehouse Central, London, 10 September 2015 Sundance Institute and Picturehouse will host the Sundance Film Festival: London from 10 to 12 June 2016 at the recently launched Picturehouse Central. The festival will feature the international and UK premieres of films from the 2016 edition of the renowned Sundance Film Festival in Park City, Utah, USA.
John Cooper, Director of the Sundance Film Festival, comments: Building on our 30-year legacy of discovery and creativity, the Sundance Film Festival: London gives us the opportunity to share new independent films we love with adventurous and engaged audiences in the UK. Our new timing in June will allow us to connect with London filmgoers as they start their summer, and also to take advantage of the fantastic rooftop space of our new host venue, the very impressive Picturehouse Central.

To showcase the very best movies from one of the leading festivals in the world will be a truly great experience for us and for London's cinephiles. Bring it on.
Hosted at Picturehouse Central for the first time, the Sundance Film Festival: London will build on the success of Sundance London, hosted from 2012 to 2014, which featured the international and UK premieres of films including Fruitvale Station, Obvious Child, Frank, The Trip to Italy, The Queen of Versailles, Blackfish, Upstream Color and The Look of Love. The festival was attended by filmmakers, artists and supporters including HRH The Prince of Wales, Michael Fassbender, Gemma Arterton, Ryan Reynolds, Gina Rodriguez, Lake Bell, Jimmy Carr, the Eagles, Peaches, David Cross, Rose McGowan, Minnie Driver and Rufus Wainwright.

Picturehouse Cinemas
Formed in 1989 to challenge the multiplex model, Picturehouse Cinemas own and operate 22 cinemas and programme a further 42 venues across the UK. Picturehouse Central opened in June 2015 after extensive redevelopment of the former Cineworld in the Trocadero centre. With a brand new entrance on the corner of Shaftesbury Avenue and Great Windmill Street, Picturehouse's new West End flagship has seven screens with more than 1,000 seats, a ground-floor caf , a first-floor restaurant and a double-height Members' bar on the second and third floors that includes a roof terrace with stunning views over London (opening October 2016). With Dolby Atmos sound, 35mm, 70mm and 4k projection, Picturehouse Central is the best place to watch a huge variety of films, ranging from quality blockbusters to independent, classic, foreign-language and art-house films.
