Banijay expands Spanish presence with acquisition of DLO Producciones

Leading content creator Banijay Group has further extended its activities in Spain with the acquisition of DLO Producciones, the renowned drama and entertainment production company founded and headed by award-winning Spanish producer Jos Manuel Lorenzo.

Alongside its flagship Spanish operation, Ana Rosa Quitanas Cuarzo Producionnes, Banijay is entering the drama genre with the acquisition of DLO.

Both brands will continue to operate independently, with Ana Rosa Quintata and Jos Manuel Lorenzo working together to expand Banijays coverage of both genres and broadcasters within the Spanish market.

Established in 2011, DLO (Day Light On) is the fastest growing independent audiovisual production company in Spain, with a slate that includes multiple primetime series and mini-series developed for major broadcasters. Former MD of TVE, Antena3 and Grupo Sogecable's Canal+, Jos Manuel Lorenzo is one of the most seasoned managers and producers in Spain, with more than 25 years experience.

DLO has developed numerous titles for primetime broadcast, including the TV movie El ngel de Budapest for TVE, which has been highly recognized and awarded both in Spain and abroad, family comedy series Familia and miniseries Mario Conde, los Dias de Gloria, both for Telecinco. The company is currently in production on the recently-announced and highly anticipated drama series El Capitan Alatriste, for Mediaset, and currently has a number of projects in development for local broadcasters in various genres covering both scripted and non-scripted.
