David Alfaras es socio fundador y actual responsable de la empresa Alfa Pictures. Tambi n fue socio fundador de Alfa Films en 2006. El premio reconoce la trayectoria de este distribuidor emprendedor que arriesga siempre con pel culas de calidad, muchas de ellas participadas por RTVE.
Entre sus apuestas, destacan t tulos como La novia' que contin a en cartelera; Hijo de Ca n', un thriller psicol gico, opera prima de Jes s Monlla ; Enemy' con Jacke Gyllenhall, adaptaci n de la obra El hombre duplicado' de Jos Saramago, que fue proyectada en el Festival de San Sebasti n; La Deuda' premiada en el Festival de M laga; as como las ltimas pel culas de Ventura Pons, como El virus del miedo'.
Entre sus pr ximos lanzamientos se encuentran El rey Tuerto', que competir en el pr ximo Festival de Cine Espa ol de M laga, o Acantilado', la nueva pel cula de la directora Helena Taberna, adaptaci n de la novela El contenido del silencio', de Luc a Etxebarr a.
Este galard n completa el palmar s de la 60 edici n de los Premios Sant Jordi de Cinematograf a: Isla bonita', dirigida por Fernando Colomo y participada por RTVE, mejor pel cula espa ola; Natalia de Molina ha conseguido el premio a mejor actriz espa ola por Techo y comida' y Pedro Casablanc como mejor actor espa ol por su interpretaci n en B, la pel cula'. El Sant Jordi a la mejor opera prima ha sido para El cam m s llarg per tornar a casa' de Sergi P rez. En el apartado internacional Mad Max: Furia en la carretera', de George Miller se ha alzado con el premio a mejor pel cula extranjera. Marc Rylance por su interpretaci n en El puente de los esp as' y Laia Costa en Victoria', han sido elegidos mejor actor y actriz en pel culas extranjeras. Las Roses de Sant Jordi, elegidas por los oyentes de R dio 4, han premiado a Truman', dirigida por Cesc Gay y participada por RTVE, y a La familia B lier' del franc s Eric Lartigau. El Premio especial a la Trayectoria ha reca do en el actor Imanol Arias.
La gala de los premios se celebrar el d a 11 de abril en la Antigua F brica de Estrella Damm en Barcelona.
