Company's first-ever ISE exhibition to highlight field fiber and customizable throwdown solutions for live production, PTZ/POV camera extension and more
MultiDyne Video & Fiber Optic Systems has spent decades establishing its reputation as an innovator in fiber-optic transport and connectivity for the broadcast, sports and cinematic production space. Following its first InfoComm presence in 12 years and a recent office expansion in Poland, MultiDyne heads to Barcelona for its first-ever ISE exhibition with a range of broadcast-quality products suitable for many AV verticals and applications.
Long-distance transport is among the central themes that MultiDyne will address on its ISE stand (4N825), with a variety of problem-solving and high-capacity solutions for intrabuilding, cross-campus and large venue connectivity needs. MultiDyne will showcase its customizable VB Build A Box Series offering configurable fiber transport solutions for any combination of video, audio, data and Ethernet signals; and its award-winning HoneyBadger field fiber solution for large-scale production-based transport.
MultiDyne's compact, high-density VB Series boxes are suitable for permanent installed AV systems and as temporary throwdowns to reduce reliance on copper connections. MultiDyne has recently added HDMI 2.0 transport to both its VB Series and VF-9000 bulk transport frames, allowing customers to move large numbers of optically isolated HDMI signals over one fiber and maintain signal integrity. Both systems can convert back to HDMI at the receive side or to SDI (or both in some cases), which supports interesting new use cases for PTZ/POV camera extension and 12G 4K transport in mixed signal environments.
Jesse Foster, VP of Products and Western Sales, MultiDyne, says that 12G-SDI throughput, enabled in most MultiDyne products, provides a broadcast-quality extension solution for the AV enterprise market. Our customers in the high-end corporate, education and government vertical have increasingly gravitated toward 12G-SDI, which paves the way for a larger-scale adoption of broadcast quality solutions for AV transport and connectivity moving forward, he said.
We can accelerate the displacement of HDMI connectivity at the display in favor of a full bandwidth 12G transport from source to destination and require minimal fibers between floors or buildings to reduce costs and complexity, he continued.
MultiDyne HoneyBadger 4U 5U
HoneyBadger takes a different approach as a ruggedized 5RU field fiber solution with an expansive, unparalleled feature set for live production-based fiber transport. Ideal for stadiums, arenas, campus and venue-wide signal extension, HoneyBadger is built for content producers faced with an array of formats, signals and connectors that bridges the gap between copper and fiber. Its comprehensive design supports most production workflows so everything the content producer needs for multi-camera or multi-announcer productions converge over just two fibers.
HoneyBadger brings several classic MultiDyne strengths together into one common platform with exceptional signal density for HD, 3G (quad-link 4K) and 12G (single-link 4K) productions. Thanks to its high I/O density, support for eight camera feeds and SDI return channels, high channel count audio extension, and two independent 1Gb local-area network (LAN) extensions are provided. The latter enables IP connectivity over two single-mode fiber strands.
HoneyBadger doesn't care about the size of your university campus or the expanse of your in-venue requirements for sports coverage, said Jesse Foster, Vice President of Products and Western Sales, MultiDyne. HoneyBadger cares about giving the content producer everything needed for multi-camera or multi-announcer productions, all of which converges within the HoneyBadger's design. We built it with streamlined architectures and quick, simple connectivity in mind, essentially in the form of a junction box that is easy to transport, manage and maintain.
