L3Harris Leader Zoiss: Dominating the Space Domain Key to Future Military Success

Not only will future military operations require resilient space architectures and exquisite space domain awareness, they'll be won or lost in space - the fifth warfighting domain. That was the theme of remarks by Ed Zoiss, President, Space and Airborne Systems, L3Harris, during an April 3 panel focused on the future of conflicts that involve space assets, which took place at the Navy League Sea-Air-Space exposition.

As our multiple national security space partners track a range of evolving threats, we'll continue to focus our investments to improve the resilience of space-based capabilities - such as missile warning and tracking, ISR, PNT and communications - because our warfighters require it, he said.

Zoiss is confident the U.S. Space Force and the rest of the space operations community will ensure the U.S. and its allies not only win, but dominate in future crises and conflicts.

The panel, titled Space: The 5th Warfighting Domain, included insights from leaders who are formulating the nation's strategy to win future space conflicts. Panelists joining Zoiss were:

Vice Adm. Jeffrey Trussler, Deputy Chief of Naval Operations for Information Warfare, N2/N6, Office of the Chief of Naval Operations/Director of Naval Intelligence

Steven Butow, Space Portfolio Director of the Defense Innovation Unit, Department of Defense

Derek Tournear, Space Development Agency Executive Director

Zoiss highlighted that L3Harris provides superior space domain awareness and warfighter support at the Combined Space Operations Center (CSpOC), National Space Defense Center (NSDC) and National Reconnaissance Operations Center (NROC).

L3Harris helps the U.S. and its allies identify behavior and intent to establish a strong asymmetric advantage against threatening behaviors in space by supplying warfighters with critical detection, tracking, targeting and engagement options.
