UK-based outside broadcast company Arena Television has ceased trading, SVG Europe can confirm.

The independently owned and operated business runs a fleet of 24 OB units, fly-pack modular remote production systems and studio production facilities, and works across a range of international sports.

Speaking to SVG Europe, a company spokesperson confirmed that the business was no longer trading but he was unable to provide any further information about what had happened or why, and what will happen to the company going forward.

Arena's key contracts include England international football, the FA Cup, One-day Cricket Internationals, Six Nations Rugby, the Wimbledon Tennis Championships and European Darts.

Arena was due to provide services to the BBC, ITV and Sky Sports this weekend. That work will now be picked up by other OB firms. SVG Europe understands that Arena staff have been offered to those firms to smooth the handover process, but no Arena OB units are being made available.

It has also been confirmed that Arena's sister company, Arena Aviation, which provides aerial filming services, has ceased trading.

Earlier this year the company launched CoreTX, a decentralised and cloud-based production service that includes, at its heart, a new Production Centre based at its HQ in Redhill, Surrey.

In the financial year ending 2019, Arena Television Ltd had a turnover of £29 million and employed 100-plus staff.
