Cobalt Iron Inc., today announced the extension for its Compass enterprise SaaS backup platform that offers advanced protection for network-attached storage (NAS) data. Compass delivers the industry s most efficient and comprehensive approach to NAS backup and recovery via a powerful proxy capability called the Compass NAS Agent.

Since Compass operates in a parallel workflow rather than the sequential workflow of NDMP, backup and recovery performance can also be significantly improved.
