Hi everybody,

This morning at 4:03am, the one billionth dollar was pledged to a Kickstarter project. You read that right: as of today, more than $1,000,000,000 has been pledged to projects on Kickstarter. Whoa!

This milestone is an achievement of many, not a few. Millions of people from around the world made this happen. Congrats to all of you!

To celebrate, we built a really fun feature exploring the $1 billion pledged to Kickstarter projects. There's even a cool map you should definitely mouse over.

So what does it say that $1 billion has been pledged to Kickstarter projects?

It says that we're excited by new ideas.

It says that we believe in each other.

It says that there's more art and culture in the world than ever before.

It says that we're a part of something bigger, something great.

It says that we're not satisfied with the status quo.

It says that we can all create amazing things.
