From the roar of the crowd during major events to the electric atmosphere of championship matches, sports offer an unparalleled experience that transcends borders. The energy, excitement, and community that sports create are universal, and that's what makes this moment in time particularly special. We're witnessing a transformation in how fans engage with their favorite teams and athletes, especially with the rise of global streaming services.
At the same time, Europe remains a powerhouse in its own right, boasting iconic sports events that have captivated fans for decades. So we're excited to share that the Eurovision Sport App that is filled with top-class sports events from 30+ sports organizations is nominated for best New Platform at the forthcoming SportsPro OTT Awards.
The Evolution of Sports Streaming Digital transformation has impacted nearly every aspect of life, and sports are no exception. Gone are the days when fans were limited to watching games on television or listening to live commentary on the radio. Today, sports fans demand seamless access to live events on their mobile devices, tablets, and laptops, anywhere and anytime. A Commitment to Free-to-Air and Innovation One of the core missions of Eurovision Sport is to uphold the free-to-air philosophy that is central to European public broadcasters. Supported by advertising, sponsorships, and Free Ad-Supported Television (FAST) channels, Eurovision Sport ensures that sports injuries remain accessible to everyone. NAGRA Sport, a dedicated unit within NAGRAVISION, manages both content and user operations, supporting the platform's capacity to offer thousands of hours of sports content.
