Grass Valley Announces GV STRATUS Support for ANNOVAs OpenMedia Newsroom Computer System
Hillsboro, Ore., September 10, 2013 As part of its ongoing commitment to open standards architecture, Grass Valley announced today that the companys GV STRATUS nonlinear media production tools now interface with Germany-based ANNOVA Systemss OpenMedia 4 Newsroom Computer System. This signifies a powerful step forward for Grass Valleys presence in central Europes newsroom market.
ANNOVA Systems GmbH is a leading German software provider that offers broadcasters innovative newsroom solutions for individual workflows. Its OpenMedia newsroom system is the latest to be added to the list of compatible Media Object Server (MOS) systems for Grass Valleys GV STRATUS, which includes Avids iNEWS, the Associated Presss ENPS system, and Octopus 7. When interfaced with OpenMedia, GV STRATUS delivers 100% of its functionality within OpenMedia so journalists have a solid and unified work environment, allowing them to better focus on creativity.
Grass Valley is a proven leader in broadcast and newsroom technologies, so it was a straightforward choice to select its market-leading solution for our project, said Michael Sch ller, Chief Executive Officer, ANNOVA. By collaborating with the powerful GV STRATUS toolset, our large pool of broadcast clients can now take advantage of a seamless work environment that gives them full control over every part of their content creation and distribution lifecycle. As a result, our customers now have a unified platform that combines production tools, device control, and asset control in an intuitive interface so they can deliver their news on time, on budget, and without any hiccups.
A key benefit of GV STRATUS is its full compatibility with the MOS protocol, which allows it to interface with and take programming instructions from most newsroom computer systems. It also integrates with Grass Valley K2 media servers and storage to offer an expandable foundation for new applications and workflows. To further expand its capabilities, a new multisite function has been added to GV STRATUS that connects multiple GV STRATUS sites, regardless of distance, and allows users to browse remote content and share resources.
The newsroom market in central Europe is an important part of Grass Valleys trajectory and were thrilled to be working with ANNOVA on such an innovative collaboration, said Mike Cronk, Senior Vice President of Marketing, Grass Valley. Were especially excited to show European broadcasters how GV STRATUS, when coupled with existing newsroom systems, can meet the growing challenge of investing in technology for the future while maximizing efficiencies.
The latest version of GV STRATUS will be released in Q3 2013 and publically demonstrated for the first time at IBC 2013, on the Grass Valley stand, #1.D11 in Hall 1, from 13th-17th September 2013.
