NAB 2026: Backlight to Showcase Iconik and Wildmoka Integration

Backlight, the media technology company behind Iconik and Wildmoka, will showcase its Creative Operations Platform at NAB Show 2026 (Booth N2829, April 19-22). The platform brings Wildmoka's multi-platform publishing capabilities into the Iconik media management workflow.

Media teams are under constant pressure to produce more content while maintaining quality and control, says Kathleen Barrett, CEO, Backlight. At NAB 2026, we're making Iconik even more powerful by extending it further into the content lifecycle. By bringing Wildmoka technology into the Iconik experience, customers can move more seamlessly from managing and collaborating on content to publishing it - without sacrificing flexibility, governance, or the investments they've already made.

In 2025, Iconik customers managed 903 million assets across more than 324 petabytes of storage, with 54% asset growth and 56% data growth year-over-year. Teams add more than 11 terabytes of new media per hour. Wildmoka customers published 5.7 million clips in 2025, generating approximately 75 billion views.

The Iconik x Wildmoka integration has undeniably supercharged our workflow. It's exceedingly useful, says Elliott Woodcock, Lead Video Editor, Goodwood Group. Wildmoka Clip Studio is incredibly efficient for clipping and distributing content, but now that we've connected it with Iconik, we also have this powerful and low-touch live-to-archive' workflow for full events, where we can also create coverage clips and then easily publish them to Iconik for archival and future use.

Iconik and Wildmoka Integration

A new native publish panel inside Iconik, powered by Wildmoka, allows teams to push content from their managed library to social channels and owned platforms without file transfers. Backlight will also debut a redesigned Wildmoka Clip Editor with new capabilities including AI-powered points of interest for live feeds, AI captions that automatically fit any aspect ratio, one-click vertical reformatting for Instagram and TikTok, transcript-based editing, and multilingual caption publishing.

Storage and Infrastructure

Backlight will introduce ISG Pro, an enterprise upgrade to the Iconik Storage Gateway. ISG Pro replaces single-node on-premises ingest with a distributed multi-node architecture, providing horizontal throughput scaling and automatic failover.

Review and Collaboration

New Iconik review capabilities include multi-channel audio monitoring with channel-level control (mute, solo, pan, and level adjustment) in the browser, and image sequence support in the Iconik Player desktop app.

Security

Iconik is adding digital rights management enforcement, forensic watermarking, and email allowlisting for content distributed outside organizational boundaries.

AI Metadata

LLM-driven metadata generation will suggest new values for metadata fields using existing asset information including filename, folder structure, tags, and transcripts. New search filter modifiers will also be introduced for more precise content discovery.
