Beginning July 14, 2017, KDDI and Okinawa Cellular will offer a new rate plan, au Pitatto Plan.
au Pitatto Plan is a new rate plan under which a flat-rate charge is automatically applied in 5 stages starting from 2,980 [1] depending on the amount of data used, thereby eliminating waste.
Applications for the Big News Campaign will be accepted from the same day, enabling customers to use the latest au smartphones [3] at rates starting from 1,980/month, including calls and data communication.
au Pitatto Plan au Pitatto Plan is a new rate plan under which a flat-rate charge is automatically applied in 5 stages starting from 1,980 [2] depending on how much data is used.
For most customers who use smartphones, the amount of data they use varies from month to month and there are months when they do not get the best rate. Under the au Pitatto Plan, a rate appropriate for data usage that month is automatically applied, enabling such customers to use their smartphones without waste each month.

There are 3 plans to choose from, au Pitatto Plan (Super Kakeho), au Pitatto Plan (Kakeho) and au Pitatto Plan (Simple), depending on usage of voice calls.
au Pitatto Plan is not a monthly discount offered as a discount when a customer purchases a device, but a rate plan that offers the customer great value by setting the communication charges at a significantly low level. The need to pay up to half the cost of the device [4] is eliminated by using this plan in combination with the new
Upgrade Program EX.

Big News Campaign A 1,000 discount on monthly charges is offered for 12 months to customers who subscribe to au Pitatto Plan when making a new contract or changing to a new model[5] during the period from July 14, 2017 to December 31, 2017. This means that customers can use au Pitatto Plan (Super Kakeho) and au Pitatto Plan (Simple) at great value rates starting from 1,980 [2].
With au Pitatto Plan, monthly points earned so far based on au monthly charges are integrated with au STAR Royal. [6] Points earned with au STAR Royal, which rewards customers with WALLET points based on the number of years they have subscribed to au services, are awarded as shown below. [7]

This service is not available when making a new contract or changing models involving purchase of iPhone 7/iPhone 7 Plus/iPhone 6s/iPhone 6s Plus/iPhone SE/iPhone 6/iPhone 6 Plus/iPhone 5s/iPhone 5c/iPhone 5.
However, customers who already use one of the above iPhones may subscribe to this service by changing their rate plan.

Some of the points earned with au STAR Royal based on usage from July to December 2017 are awarded as monthly points. The remaining au STAR Royal points are awarded collectively in January 2018. After that, points are awarded on a monthly basis.

Points earned for every 1,000 (excluding tax) are awarded the following month, based on the flat-rate charges (total amount for basic charges, flat-rate data service and internet connection) for each subscription to an eligible rate plan as of the end of the month. However, when subscribed to LTE NET for DATA, points are calculated based on subscription to LTE NET. When subscribed to au Smart Value or au Smart Value mine, points are calculated based on the flat-rate charges after deduction of discounts.
