NBC Sports New CPTR D Short-Form Feature Contest Is Open to All Filmmakers

NBC Sports Group has announced CPTR'D (Captured), a sports short-form feature contest open to filmmakers of all levels. Selected submissions will be presented across NBC Sports' digital platforms, and the winning project will be telecast on NBCSN and earn $10,000.

Beginning Nov. 9, amateur filmmakers, journalists, and aspiring filmmakers are invited to submit short-form feature projects on any sports-related topic Running 10 minutes or less, entries must be submitted by Jan. 12, 2016, must include originally shot footage, and are subject to all official rules of the contest. Storytelling is a fundamental part of NBC Sports Group's business and our coverage of signature events, says Ron Wechsler, SVP, original productions, NBC Sports Group. CPTR'D will open the doors of NBC Sports and give filmmakers of all levels an opportunity to share their stories with a national audience.

Five finalists will be announced and the films posted on www.cptrdcontest.com on Feb. 4. Visitors to the site will be able to view all finalist selections and vote for their favorite project. Initial submissions will be judged by a panel comprising NBC Sports Group executives and sports and entertainment figures. First- through fifth-place selections will be decided by a collaboration of public and judges' votes.

All five finalists will receive an all-expenses-paid trip to Austin, TX, to attend a CPTR'D watch party. First-, second-, and third-place winners will be announced on March 9. The second-place film will win camera gear worth $2,500; the third-place entry, a $1,000 gift card.
