Progress Positioned as a Visionary in the Magic Quadrant for Enterprise Application Platform as a Service (aPaaS) Evaluation Based on Completeness of Vision and Ability to Execute
BEDFORD, Mass.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Progress (NASDAQ: PRGS), today announced it has been positioned by Gartner, Inc. in the Visionaries quadrant of the Magic Quadrant for Enterprise Application Platform as a Service (aPaaS). The Gartner report, authored and published by Yefim Natis, Massimo Pezzini, Mark Driver, David Mitchell Smith, Kimihiko Iijima and Ross Altman on January 7, 2014 notes that, Enterprise CIOs, IT planners and architects at a growing number of organizations are turning to the cloud for their new application initiatives. The Progress Pacific platform-as-a-service (PaaS) enables rapid creation and deployment of data-driven business applications that are unlimited by device or cloud.
According to the report, Enterprise IT users too are coming to the aPaaS market in increasing numbers. With the growing adoption of SaaS by mainstream enterprise business and of IaaS by mainstream enterprise IT, more organizations have become familiar with the benefits of cloud computing and more have become dependent on cloud resources. aPaaS is engaged to customize and extend SaaS.
