Ce sont les producteurs de publicit s qui lui proposeront de passer la direction photo en 2017. Le film Choose your Future (Academy Film) pour les lections europ ennes ma donn beaucoup de visibilit . Le r alisateur Fr d ric Planchon cherchait une chef op ratrice pour aller filmer dans toute lEurope, des femmes qui accouchent. Cest un tr s beau film, assez naturaliste, qui a t diffus dans tous les pays europ ens. Suite cela, Olivier Nakache et Eric Toledano m'ont contact pour une campagne AXA (Quad) et mont ensuite propos dintervenir sur la saison 1 de la s rie En Th rapie qu'ils ont r alis e pour Arte. Tout sest tr s bien encha n . Cest difficile dentrer dans ce m tier, mais jai toujours senti quelque chose de bienveillant, de tr s positif dans le milieu. Bien s r, il y a encore du chemin faire pour quil y ait plus de directrices photo, mais jai cette na vet de croire quune fois quon y est, ce nest pas diff rent dun homme.

La publicit est un super laboratoire pour apprendre et exp rimenter , ajoute M lodie Preel. Il y a toujours de gros enjeux esth tiques. Fin 2021, jai tourn en Bulgarie une pub Orange Iphone 13, r alis par le duo Truman & Cooper (Diplomats.tv) avec lALEXA Mini LF et les ARRI Signature Primes. Sur ce film, nous tournions de nuit, sous la pluie, une sorte de com die musicale. Javais besoin dune image douce, un peu ronde, sans aucune distorsion et dune grande ouverture. Jai pu choisir les Signature Primes parce que cela correspondait au projet. Sur dautres films, au contraire, je vais chercher patiner limage, obtenir des distorsions, en prenant des optiques vintages. Le choix est avant tout esth tique, pas budg taire.
R cemment jai tourn une publicit au Mexique pour le service de vid o am ricain Hulu, r alis e par Clo Bailly (Caviar L.A.). C tait un gros film daction en studio, tr s sympa faire, que jai pu tourner deux cam ras, une ALEXA LF et une ALEXA Mini LF, mont es sur un Bolt pour refaire les mouvements lidentique. C tait un vrai d fi, avec beaucoup deffets sp ciaux en live et en num rique, des contraintes de s curit importantes et peu de temps pour la postproduction derri re, car le film devait tre diffus dans la foul e au Super Bowl.

Jaime beaucoup travailler avec lALEXA Mini LF , indique la directrice de la photo. Elle est l g re, je peux la mettre l paule. Jaime sa maniabilit . R cemment jai tourn une publicit KFC Crispy en Pologne, r alis e par Vincent Lobelle (Iconoclast). Cest un film tr s d coup pour lequel jai utilis nouveau la Mini LF avec des Signatures Primes. Il fallait tre capable de se d placer 360 dans cette cuisine, avec le personnage qui danse dans le d cor. La Mini LF tait tr s adapt e, on a pu linstaller sur steadicam avec un Alien. Le r alisateur voulait aussi cette criture moderne quapporte le grand format en tr s courte focale. Au plafond, javais install des SkyPanels avec une diffusion et une jupe, des lampes de jeu tr s chaudes et des entrants en tungst ne. Jai aussi beaucoup aim les discussions avec Alexandre Vivet, le chef d co, sur la construction de la cuisine, le choix des murs amovibles, les ouvertures de fen tre. C tait une collaboration tr s riche.
