Canal Digital Kabel adds the Qyou to channel line-up

Norway's Canal Digital Kabel has added The Qyou to its TV service, marking the TV channel's entrance into the Nordic market. Launched 12 months ago, The Qyou is a 24/7 pay-TV channel of curated, internet video content. The service is available in more than 30 countries, and in almost five million homes, and last month announced the availability of its new app.

The Qyou channel on Canal Digital is ad-free and offers viewers access to a range of web videos including short films, comedy, music, dance and stunts. The service tailors its output depending on the time of day, for instance offering Q-Zone for a younger, after-school audience and Q-Prime later on for family viewers.

Haakon Li Dragland, director of content and strategy at Canal Digital Kabel, said that the Qyou represents a form of content that fills a gap in our current offering , and that the telecoms company - owned by Telenor - is confident that our customers will enjoy the channel.

The channel also offers a video on-demand service as well as a set of mobile and TV apps, enabling service providers and operators, with the aim of offering a full TV Everywhere service. Its international feed is HD quality and advertising-free with localised programming for specific regional markets to cater to the needs of audiences across Europe, the Middle East and Africa.
