Record breaking RT Player Toy Show Streams in Ireland and Abroad with 622,000 streams from 139 countries
Over 4.9 million raised for Toy Show Appeal

RT 's Home Alone themed Late Late Toy Show beamed into homes across Ireland and the world with average TV viewing for Friday night's show now at over 1.6 million, including catch-up viewing on Saturday and Sunday and the repeat broadcast. Across the weekend, RT Player broke their Toy Show record with 622,000 streams in Ireland and abroad, including Irish Sign Language streams. 250 children invaded the McCallister home by getting involved in toy demonstrations, Wicked performances and the inaugural Toy Show County Parade.
Audiences from 139 countries including streams from all 50 states in America and all eight Australian territories tuned in to see Brian g's karaoke moment, Kevin and his Leitrim half dozen and Zara sharing her space facts; 21% of live streams came from outside of Ireland.
RT social platforms celebrated demo kids and performers from little Kevins to Wet Bandits, Behind the Scenes with Paddy at the end of the show, stars Brian g, Dory and a rocking performance of Thunderstruck delighted audiences across all platforms with 18.4 million video views across all and 1.4m engagements on that content across TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, X and BlueSky.
With Patrick Kielty emulating Kevin McCallister, a Christmas tree, and a wrestler to name just some of the extravagant costume changes, the biggest kid of them all Patrick Kielty said: I can't believe it's over for another year but I'm still buzzing from a magical Toy Show last Friday night. As always that's down to the amazing kids who knocked it out of the park with their performances, their toy demos and bringing their unique personalities, and to you at home for watching and sharing the love on the night. The incredible amount our audience watching at home gave to the Toy Show Appeal this year is mind blowing and the difference it will make to kids and their families up, down and across Ireland is truly humbling. Thank you so much for making it a night to remember.
Audiences showed their generosity in enormous numbers through their donations to the Toy Show Appeal, raising 4.9 million this year. Children's charities across Ireland will see the benefit of these funds in the year ahead with the total figure raised since its inception in 2020 now reaching beyond 26 million.
Denise Charlton, Chief Executive of Community Foundation Ireland said: The huge generosity of The Late Late Toy Show viewers will transform young lives in every county. On behalf of the Community Foundation and our voluntary, community and charitable partners, I want to sincerely thank everyone who took part in this truly magical television moment. As the money continues to flow in, we will now begin the work of turning it into positive action to meet essential needs, address health and wellbeing, as well as, promoting play and creativity. The Late Late Toy Show with Irish Sign Language (ISL) was also available live on Friday night on the RT News Channel and RT Player, ISL Toy Show will be repeated in Wednesday night's ISL block on RT One. The repeat show was broadcast with Audio Description on Sunday, making the Toy Show more inclusive for Blind and Vision Impaired audiences. The Audio Description version will be repeated tonight (Monday) on RT One.

The RT Toy Show Appeal exists as a Donor Advised Fund with registered charity The Community Foundation for Ireland (Charities Regulator Number: 20044886). Grants from the 2024 RT Toy Show Appeal will be made by an open application process to open in early 2025.
Donations can be made via www.rte.ie/toyshowappeal or with the appeal's official donation partner Revolut Pay.
The show exceeded a massive 424,000 live streams and an additional 186,000 streams on demand making it one of the most-watched programmes of 2024 on RT Player.
On Youtube, The Late Late Toy Show has had 192,545 views across all clips.

The global Irish joined Patrick Kielty to stream the Late Late Toy Show from 139 different countries across Toy Show weekend December 6-9th 2024, with 21% of live streams on Friday night from outside Ireland.
The Home Alone inspired show had over 424,000 live streams and an additional 186,000 streams on demand, adding up to 610,000 streams overall, and 41,000 top moment clips.
