Creative Skillset Film Trainee Finder is now open for applications

The Scheme places Trainees in paid training placements on UK film productions and is open to those with a commitment and passion to working in Production Sound, Editing, Hair & Make-up, Camera, Costume & Wardrobe, the Art Department, Script Supervisors, Production office, Locations and Assistant Directing.

Since its launch the scheme has helped people from a diverse range of backgrounds land their first training position on UK feature films including Ginger & Rosa, Seven Psychopaths, Kick Ass 2, The Double, Cinderella, The Man from U.N.C.L.E, Les Miserables, Dom Hemingway, All You Need is Kill, Fast and Furious 6 and Quartet.

It has been inspiring working with two award-winning Costume Designers. I feel privileged to have observed their design process, from initial design to realisation, and the advice they have personally given me has been invaluable

Trainees not only gain first-hand experience of working on a film set they also make those all-important contacts that are so essential when competing for their next job in film.

Camera Trainee James Thomas had always wanted to work in the Camera Department but knew there could be barriers to entry. Like many others, I struggled getting a foot in the industry due to too few people ever wanting to take the risk on someone new when they most likely knew of someone already for the job, he said. However, following his acceptance on the Trainee Scheme James became a Camera Trainee on Great Expectations and Ginger & Rosa. Through the contacts and skills he developed on these placements his career has taken off and has included working on both 47 Ronin and All You Need is Kill.

Deadline for applications is 14th Oct at 5pm 2013. Successful applicants will be invited to interview with a film industry panel at Pinewood Studios.
