La programaci n especial de Televisi n Espa ola con motivo de los Juegos entre el 25 de julio y el 9 de agosto (2.860 emisiones) alcanz una cuota del 28,3%, con 31.324.000 contactos y el 87,2% de la poblaci n.
La ceremonia inaugural emitida en La 2 el 25 de julio fue seguida por 5.957.000 espectadores, con una cuota del 62,4%. La cadena consigui este d a su mejor resultado hist rico con el 39,3% de share.
La apertura la emisi n m s vista de los Juegos y ha sido la ceremonia inaugural m s vista de cualquier edici n (Londres 2012 obtuvo 5.656.000 espectadores en Espa a).
La espectacular encendida del pebetero en el Estadio Ol mpico de Montju c por parte de Antonio Rebollo a las 22.40 horas supuso el minuto de oro con una cuota del 64,9% (6.811.000 espectadores). El Canal Ol mpic (una iniciativa de Televisi n Espa ola y Televisi de Catalunya que oper como host broadcaster por encargo del Comit Ol mpico Internacional) despleg en la apertura un total de 47 c maras y a lo largo de todas las Olimpiadas se estren la tecnolog a audiovisual m s puntera del momento.
En cuanto a la clausura que tuvo lugar el 9 de agosto de 1992, congreg a 5.813.000 espectadores, con una cuota de pantalla en La 1 en 57,9%.
Los buenos resultados de los deportistas ol mpicos espa oles, que consiguieron 13 medallas de oro, 7 de plata y 2 de bronce, hicieron que miles de espectadores siguieran con atenci n todas las jornadas de los Juegos. El Plan ADO, desarrollado entre 1988 y 1992, supuso una inversi n de 79 millones de euros que permitieron a los atletas y deportistas espa oles colgarse 22 metales.
La emisi n deportiva m s vista fue la final de f tbol masculino que gan la Selecci n Espa ola seguida por 3.778.000 espectadores (54,2%). Le siguen la plata obtenida por Antonio Pe alver con una audiencia de 2.735.000 espectadores (31,8%); judo -57 kg.(oro de Miriam Blasco) con 27,1% de cuota (2,39 millones) y judo -52 kg. (oro de Almudena Mu oz) 27,5% 2,25 millones; ciclismo en pista (21,6% 2,25 millones); y nataci n (41,2% 2,23 millones).
La vela es el deporte que m s medallas aport al medallero espa ol. TVE realiz 79 emisiones de este deporte y el 48,2% de los espa oles vio al menos un minuto de alguna prueba. La vela cosech una cuota media del 21,5%.
