Friday, August 16:

Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure

Ticket: $5

Keanu Reeves and Alex Winter star as Bill S. Preston ESQ. and Ted Theodore Logan, two teens with a dream to start their own rock band called Wyld Stallyns. The only thing in their way? Securing a high school diploma. With the threat of military school on the line for Ted, the two must find a way to ace their history report. Don't miss the opportunity to see easily one of the greatest time travel movies in cinema history on the big screen. There will be Circle K Slushies, trivia with great prizes, and if you dress up as one of the historical figures from the movie, you'll get a free drink!

Down and Derby Roller Disco

Ticket: $10

Lace up your skates, grab your 70s apparel, and be ready to hit the floor for a night of skating, dancing and, of course, libations. The DJs/skate guard team of Cosmo Baker, Rok One and Small Change will be setting the tone as they spin the classics all night long. Skates will be available to rent for the reasonable price of $5, but don't be late because the quantity is limited.

Take it Personal: The Hip Hop Improv Show

UCB Theater EAST at 9PM

Ticket: $10

DJ Cipha Sounds of Hot 97 and Chappelle's show hosts a night that explores the mysterious connection between hip-hop and improv comedy. Rising stars on the Hip Hop scene will share their true life tales and experiences, which will inspire a team of UCB'sfinest to perform an improv show based on their stories.

Saturday, August 17:

Coney Island Sand Sculpting Contest

Coney Island Beach & Boardwalk at 12PM

Ticket: FREE

Bring the family and friends down to the big CI to marvel at professional and amateur sculptors as construct their sandy works of art and compete for cash prizes. Entry into the event is free. If you think you've got what it takes, registration is still open.

Mr. Choade's Upstairs Downstairs

Ticket: $15

New York's finest burlesque and variety show performers gather at the famed LES establishment for a celebration of this long standing form of entertainment.

Crazy $ince Da 90$

Union Hall at 10:30PM

Ticket: $5

Come get nostalgic for the tunes of your adolescence as DJs Stefonix, BBeats and Bianca spin the hottest 90s jams to get you dancing on Saturday night. From grunge to bubble gum pop to house music and beyond, you'll want to get in on this 90s jamboree.

Sunday, August 18:

First Annual Brooklyn Beer & Wine Fest

The Lab at 1PM

Ticket: $15-30

Head to Bed-Stuy with your fellow wine lovers and beer enthusiasts for a decadent day of tastings, live tunes and various classes. Local eateries will provide bar bites and gourmet cheeses for patrons to purchase and nibble on as they sample goodies from some of NY's finest wineries and breweries.

The Tingler

Film Forum at 3:00, 6:20, 9:40

Ticket: $12.50

If you haven't experienced this William Castle classic at Film Forum, you need to get it together and go already. One of the NY cinema's scenes most beloved interactive screenings (yes, The Tingler gets loose in the theater), this film will engage, delight and scare the pants off of you. Just be ready to scream for your lives!

Fitzcarraldo

Film Society of Lincoln Center at 8PM

Ticket: $13

Perhaps Werner Herzog's most infamous film, Fitzcarraldo stars Klaus Kinski as Brian Sweeney Fitzgerald, an opera fanatic hell bent on building an opera house in the treacherous Peruvian jungle. See this one on the big screen.
