Plug In Collective Audiority

July's Plug-in Collective community giveaway comes courtesy of acclaimed Italian developer Audiority, whose extensive range of plug-ins has received countless plaudits from press and public alike. From 4 July to 5 September, Plug-in Collective members can nab themselves not one but two superb Audiority VST/AU/AAX effects - the Deleight delay and Distortion 1 virtual stompbox - as well as a 50% discount on any single plug-in in the Audiority store, or 15% off the company's Effects Plugin Bundle (bringing the price down to $297.50).

Deleight is a stereo multi-tap delay, based on late 90s digital hardware, with four taps per side (see what they've done there?) and discrete Left, Right and Feedback channels. Adjust the timing, LFO modulation amount, level and pan position for each tap independently to construct elaborate echo patterns, and crank up the feedback to stretch them out to the horizon. No delay-based effect is off limits, from straightforward echoes and short reverbs, to rich chorusing, flanging, ADT and beyond. There's even a Loop mode, for using Deleight as a looper device, complete with Speed and Reverse controls.

Distortion 1, meanwhile, is a virtual recreation of an iconic Japanese stompbox from the late 70s. Every nuance of the original hardware has been captured through the magic of analogue modelling, and with just three main knobs to negotiate - Tone, Distortion and Level - it makes bringing edge and bite to your guitar tones supremely quick and effortless.

I particularly enjoy using Deleight to create interesting widening effects on vocals, says Plug-in Collective Product Manager Jonathan Campbell, as you have deep control of each of the left and right channel settings. It can also be applied to pads for the same effect - really lush sounding stuff!

Distortion 1 is a faithful recreation of classic late 70s distortion pedals, he continues. Though I'm not much of a guitarist myself, I find that using the pedal on a send channel allows me to add really interesting textures to some of my bass sounds, and really helps bring out some extra harmonics.

Deleight retails for 45 while Distortion 1 costs 20, but Plug-in Collective members can get both for free from 4 July to 5 September. Over the same time period, they can also take advantage of a 50% discount on any single plug-in in the Audiority store, or 15% of the full-on Effects Plugin Bundle.
