Latin America and what the television industry main players from the region are developing were the highlights of the panel Spanish Broadcaster , held this morning, January 20th, at Natpe. Trying to identify an outline for the market, the event brought together buyers and distributors to point out viewers' interests and what companies have to offer in terms of content and format. Moderated by journalist Nicolas Smirnoff, the panel included the participation of Daniel Djahjah, Globo's Head of International Sales.
In the first part of the the discussion, Daniel Djahjah reinforced that Globo follows both market and societal changes and, as a result, it offers innovative products to viewers, which help develop the international TV industry. Yesterday, we officially announced here at Natpe, our first original production exclusively for the Latin American and Hispanic markets. With the provisional title of Supermax, the project counts with the artistic direction of Argentinian show runner Daniel Burman and Globo's executive production. It will be filmed in Spanish with an international cast. This production proves the expansion capacity of our fictional work as it also renovates the market's creative environment since it enables the performance of different international players, he said.
The creation and production of entertainment formats and the mobilizing role of television entered the second part of the discussion when the focus went to variety shows. To Daniel, the show Love & Sex proves the possibility of debate for relevant topics in a light and uncensored way: We have been producing the show for years and, since its premiere, we realized the audience's incredible receptivity to the format. With a band, dancers and a host that sings and dances to introduce the themes, the conversation becomes fun and doesn't intimidate the viewer. On January 23rd, the show's new season goes from late night to Globo's primetime .
In regards to digital innovation, the last topic of the meeting, Djahjah highlighted Globo Play, the on-demand video platform, that in only 2 months since its launch accounted for about 3.6 million downloads. Daniel also recalled that for its latest Dangerous Liaisons', Globo firstly released it in 4K on the Globo Play app for SmarTVs. The numbers are impressive in the digital world. The last episode of the telenovela Hidden Truths alone, which was aired on the 11pm slot, had 1.5 million views. The production and distribution of our content is favored by the use of new platforms, he concluded.
Along with Daniel Djahjah, the panel included the participation of Ricardo Ehrsam, Head of Global Entertainment Formats for Televisa; Carlos Bardasano, Vice President, Original Content, Univision Communications, Inc.; Dario Turovelzky, Head of Programming at Telefe; and Mauricio Piccone, Senior Vice President of Reality Programming at Telemundo.
Tomorrow, January 21st, Globo will participate in another arena of debate at Natpe. Raphael Corr a Netto, Globo's Executive Director of International Business, along with executives from other companies, will join the the panel Latin American TV trends: from Telenovelas to Drama Series , to take place at 10:30 a.m., at Ocean Tower, Room 1B/C.

Globo will be located at the Tr sor Tower, suite 2601, during Natpe, which will be held from January 19th until the 21st. The Brazilian company produces, exhibits and distributes multigenre content around the world across multiple platforms.
