Biznet Expands with PlayBox Technology Neo

PlayBox Technology announces the completion of a broadcast playout system expansion at Biznet which owns and operates the largest telecommunication and multimedia data centre in Indonesia. Three AirBox servers deployed at the Biznet Technovillage on the outskirts of Jakarta have been upgraded to the latest AirBox Neo. We have been operating PlayBox Technology AirBox servers very successfully for several years, comments Biznet playout engineering manager Mohammad Komar.

AirBox provides a high degree of automation plus the ability to break in with live content when required. Upgrading to AirBox Neo adds a raft of new capabilities including the ability to output IP and SDI to the transmission encoders. All the AirBox Neo servers are operated remotely via optical fibre links from our playout suite in central Jakarta, handling three programme channels. One of these, Kids Channel, carries audio in English, Japanese, Korean and Thai. We also appreciate the post-sales support provided in person by the PlayBox Technology APAC team from their base in Selangor and online from the companys European headquarters.

The system installed at Biznet includes ListBox Neo, Multi Playout Manager Neo and SafeBox Neo, adds PlayBox Technology APAC project manager Dandy Kurniawan. ListBox Neo allows programme editors to create and edit schedules days or weeks in advance of transmission. Multi Playout Manager Neo gives playout centres all the facilities they need to monitor and control all channels locally. Full or restricted rights can be assigned to one or more operators who can then monitor or control the TV channels from a remote desktop or laptop computer, tablet or even a mobile phone. SafeBox Neo replicates remote content to local playout server folders for safe transmission. Expired daily schedule content is automatically deleted or moved to a predefined folder for manual deletion or archiving. Files can also be assigned specific protection to prevent removal from network sources.

We are experiencing sustained strong demand for our Neo range of solutions from television network managers and playout service-providers in America, Europe and Asia, adds PlayBox Technology CEO Pavlin Rahnev. This includes new installations and upgrades of existing systems. The Neo series now comprises eleven separate elements which can be integrated and configured to match practically any workflow and any required level of backup security. Our software and hardware design teams work in close co-operation to keep the entire product range fully up to date with the needs of the fast-evolving broadcast business.
