AKG K812: upper reference headphones Considered one of the best creations in the 65 years of AKG, represent the zenit dynamic headphones with 1.5-Tesla magnets.
Diaphragms of 53 mm, a sophisticated open construction and 1.5 Tesla (world record) magnets, are some of the features that place the K812 of AKG in the zenit dynamic headphones. Its fast impulse response, as well as its range of 5 Hz to 54 Khz frequencies are rather own products electrostatic headphone dynamic. With a recommended retail price of 1.199 euros, the K812 are indicated for mixing and mastering work, as well as for lovers of the hi-fi high end.
After five years of research, the K812 were born to become a product of historical significance in the history of AKG. The K812 capsules have diaphragms 53 mm (the biggest AKG has developed to date). His ability to move the air is very high, thus alleviating the low bass that is usually found in open-type headphones. It is true that closed designs generally offer a good level of bass with much smaller diaphragms (and a degree of isolation that is often necessary), make it to base of resonances and base also enhance certain frequencies above the rest (such as bass-reflex would do a speaker), thus moving away from the ideal of a neutral. Set the K812 transducer is complemented with ultra light dual-layer coils.
Construction
Level of construction, the cups are fully opened, made in an acoustically transparent grille, to avoid the abovementioned resonances and offer a realistic soundstage. The band adjustment is made in a combination of genuine leather and ventilated fabric, while pads, created a sophisticated 3D design, provide maximum comfort. The cable is three meters, it is built with copper in a 99.99% oxygen-free and equipped with a removable Lemo connector, high precision, for connection to headphones. At the other extreme we find the classic TRS 3.5 mm plug, that can become one of 6.3 mm. with the supplied adapter.
Kent Iverson, director of Marketing and product development at AKG, sostirne that "the K812 are not only our new headphones for reference, but are also a new step in the technological race that we have carried out over 65 years of constant innovation. The K812 are the result of five intense years of research, that we have spent to get close as possible to perfect handset. The level of engineering and innovation put into the K812 exceeds all standard, and gave as a result the handset best sound of AKG history."
Long history in the world of headphones AKG has given products as the original K120, in 1949, the iconic K1000, presented for audiophiles in the early 80s, and the most recent K701, who presented the revolutionary spool of flat cable.
The K812 are as "flagship" of the brand in the field of headphones, place that previously occupied the excellent K712 Pro. The latter, emerging, are still a reference product and a cheaper alternative to the K812.
