MIX 0.5 s Gene and Julie Finalists for National Marconi Radio Award

The National Association of Broadcasters (NAB) announced the finalists for their 2015 NAB Marconi Radio Awards on Tuesday, July 14th, and MIX 101.5 Morning Show Co-Hosts Gene and Julie Gates made the short list for Large Market Personality of the Year. The announcement came one year to the day of the Gates' arrival at Capitol Broadcasting.

This year has been a dream-come-true for us! said Julie Gates. We are blown away by all the things CBC does to honor its people. Everything from holiday parties to fresh peaches and watermelon-spitting contests. Even today we received a Starbucks gift card recognizing our one-year anniversary at WRAL-FM (thank you!). We appreciate the hard work the Goodmons and the CBC team put into place to make this an enjoyable place to work with great people. It's FUN here at MIX 101.5!

The NAB Marconi Awards honor radio stations and on-air personalities for excellence in broadcasting. Winners will be announced on October 1st at the NAB Marconi Radio Awards Dinner & Show during the 2015 Radio Show in Atlanta.

We feel heartfelt gratitude to the NAB for the recognition, Gates continued. It takes a great team to be recognized as finalists for the Marconi, and we want to thank Producer Casey Tate and Traffic Reporter Patrick McMahon for bringing their humor and talent to the show every morning. Also, General Manager Katie Phillips, Acting Program Director/Music Director Jim Kelly, Consultant Angela Perelli and Jimmy Goodmon have been a powerful family of SuperHeroes they are an unstoppable force and it's a joy to work together every day.
