Vizrt drives graphics and video for the 0 German Elections

Germanys major broadcasters use Vizrt graphics products to display the 2013 election results.

ZDF displayed live aggregated projection data on fullscreen graphics and a video wall.

Germans came together to vote for members of the 18th Bundestag of Germany September 22nd 2013. Reigning Chancellor Angela Merkel's Christian Democratic Union/Christian Social Union walked away with a clear majority of votes and now begin the process of of forming the new government.

The second German public broadcaster ZDF used several Vizrt systems to visualize their coverage of the election including a large number of data-driven graphics.

ZDF displayed election projections and results on a large LED screen using Vizrt graphics rendered in real-time with Viz Engine. The content of the graphics was moderated by ZDF's election team who monitored live projection data coming from Forschungsgruppe Wahlen, a group that analyses public opinion, and, using a custom database filtering system by Molden Media, verified and edited the data as needed then sent it to air.

N24 used a combination of immersive graphics and data-driven graphics in their studio.

Private broadcaster N24 used a combination of immersive graphics and data-driven graphics in their studio. The immersive graphics polled live data and, using Viz Virtual Studio, showed projections and results immersed into the physical studio space. Viz Content Pilot took live data as well as graphics created by journalists in the newsroom using intelligent templates and displayed the graphics in real-time with live updates. All the graphics during the broadcast were controlled live with a Mosart control room automation system.

Vizrt's capabilities of reading data and visualizing that content in real-time as well as easy integration with third party data aggregators provided Germany's broadcasters a powerful set of tools to leave the German audience informed throughout the night. The template-based solution allowed journalists to quickly edit content and provide a fast and safe solution for the broadcasters.
