To research and write studio and insert scripts for television program, according to the scriptwriting schedule. To deliver high standard scripting, not only in terms of content delivery, but also production logistics, creative direction, reality of execution and relevance of the script to the concept and context of the show. Over and above this role, to be willing to assist where necessary in the writing of scripts, proposal documents and other required copy for the company.
1. Research and information sourcing
- Researching of information as determined by content plan for use in scripts
- Sourcing of media as determined by content for use on air. E.g. J-pegs, YouTube clips, etc.
- To consistently source exciting content that makes for great viewing and speaks effectively
- Developing research into tangible and feasible ideas to be used in studio or on location
- Ensuring you are always in the know' with regards to the target audience and trends
2. Scriptwriting
- Satisfactory completion of allocated scripts according to deadline as per scriptwriter's schedule
- Adherence to monthly content plan as approved by the commissioning editor
- Ensuring that all necessary content and technical information is included in the script
- Ensuring that trade exchange information is correctly communicated within the scripts
3. Adherence to workflow and systems
- Ensure that deadlines are met with regards to the delivery of final scripts
- Ensure that scripts are approved by the content producer
- Ensure that scripts are emailed to relevant presenters timeously
- Communicate production requirements to Production Coordinator with regards to props and other logistics
- Attendance at brainstorms, content meetings and weekly post-content meetings
Studio producing (as per monthly schedule, a minimum of four shows per month)
Script read through:
- Take presenters through script
- Prepare studio for rehearsal: Making sure that the necessary set items are available for use
- Brief Deko, Sound Engineer, Airspeed and Hybrid operator on requirements of the show
- Excellent skills in written and verbal communications
- Good level of computer literacy
- Ability to source from all media
- Competitive/market knowledge
- Understanding of the production process
- Creative thinker and writer
