Story Highlights
On July 1, NESN took viewers back to 1975 with a retro Red Sox broadcast, including vintage-inspired graphics and scorebug, throwback outfits, immersive flashbacks, and other nostalgic broadcast elements - celebrating the 50th anniversary of the iconic Red Sox-Reds World Series. SVG sat down with VP of Content Josh Jun and Coordinating Producer Amy Kaplan to discuss the concept, production process, and creative vision behind the broadcast.
Following up on the July 1 retro night, NESN is now dedicating an entire week to showcasing the Green Monster across all elements of its broadcast during the Red Sox homestand against the Colorado Rockies and Tampa Bay Rays, July 7-11. As part of Monster Week, NESN is delivering live reporting and commentary from atop the Green Monster, unique camera angles, throwback features, immersive content, and more.
