BBC S&PP offers DPP-compliant services

BBC Studios and Post Production's Digital Media Services business is helping UK broadcasters and production companies with the move to Digital Production Partnership (DPP) compliant file-based content delivery. Through its digital delivery, hosting and storage services, the company will ensure its customers' digital content complies with the DPP AS-11 delivery standard, which comes into force from 1 October 2014.

Digital Media Services is using the new Front Porch Digital DIVArchive content storage management and DIVAdirector digital asset management systems, as well as existing QC and compliance equipment to manage the services. Housed at Digital Media Services' bespoke facility, it aims to give clients the flexibility to store all of their content in one place, with geographic redundancy for disaster recovery.

The company also offers short and long-term online hosting options. Its Imagen hosting platform provides access to proxy files with search tools, clipping and fulfilment options as required. Storage is free for clients for the first year with any DPP file creation and delivery.
